The GPT Store features a wide array of custom AI assistants, spanning categories such as art, research, programming, education, and lifestyle. Notable assistants include personalized trail recommendations from AllTrails, academic paper searches with Consensus, coding skill expansion with Khan Academy's Code Tutor, presentation design with Canva, book recommendations from Books, and math assistance from CK-12 Flexi. OpenAI emphasizes the simplicity of creating an assistant, requiring no coding knowledge.
To ensure compliance and user safety, OpenAI has implemented new usage policies and brand guidelines. A robust review system, combining human and automated checks, has been established to vet assistants before listing. Users can also flag any content that raises concerns. Starting Q1 2024, OpenAI plans to compensate qualifying US-based builders for user engagement with their assistants, with detailed payment criteria to be disclosed closer to the launch.
