Facilitating European Standards

On February 22, Ukrenergo conducted the inaugural joint auctions for allocating access to interstate interconnectors between Ukraine and Hungary on the European universal distribution platform JAO (Joint Allocation Office). This milestone signifies Ukraine's transition to commercial electricity exchange in accordance with European regulations with an additional EU member state.

Enhanced Electricity Exchange

Electricity exports commenced on February 23, with Ukraine supplying power to Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Moldova throughout the day. Conversely, imports of electricity occur during morning and evening hours from Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and nighttime from Moldova.

As Ukrainian News Agency previously reported, Ukraine initiated electricity exports to Europe in June 2022.
